3D style wedding photos

Last week I saw this animation by WWF, which is done by using 2D photos only. I wanted to try to apply this tecnique to my wedding photos and instantly got to work. Although wedding photos are always 2D, it is possible to make some of the appear 3D with the aid of some photo editing and video editing.

During this spring I will publish some wedding photos from the previous years, which haven’t yet been published on this blog for some reason or another, but deserve to be seen anyways. First in the line are four portraits from 2010, of which the 3 retro-stylised are taken in Malmi airport and one in Suomenlinna.

A year ago I took the wedding portraits of Tracy & Victor in Helsinki. After seeing these photos Tiffany and Fai (who similarly are from Hong Kong) also wanted to have their wedding portraits taken in the wintery Helsinki, as they were about to visit Helsinki this winter. Actually, they are getting married in 2014, but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get unique wedding photos from the Scandinavia.

1st place in the biggest wedding photography contest in Finland

I was just informed that I’ve received the 1st place in the enviromental wedding portrait category! I’m really happy and humbled by this honor, as I placed in the 1st place last year as well. I’m the first Finnish photographer to have accomplished this so far. Below is the winning photo with Hanna & Kimmo in it!

Bridal fair at Wanha Satama | 12.-13.1.2013

I’ll be doing a lecture on documentary wedding photography at the Wanha Satama bridal fair on the 12th and 13th of January (15:00-15:30 on both days). You’re all welcome there to listen to the presentation and ask some questions!

Helsinki Cathedral and Suomenlinna | Heidi & Jaakko

A perfect day and a perfect couple. The sun is shining and everything goes smoothly. Being a wedding photographer in a perfect wedding day such as this is really easy (well, as easy as it gets), and getting a good shot is not that difficult. I like solving problems, and helping wedding couples during the wedding day is something I do if ther’s anything that I can help with.

Mustikkamaa, Helsinki | Lola & Nikke

Lola and Nikke had their wedding at Mustikkamaa, Helsinki. It’s a little island between Kulosaari and Korkeasaari. This was a relatively small wedding, but the mood was great! The first few photos of this post are from Hotel Kämp, where the preparations took place.
